For the first time since February 2016, Qualcomm is making a new processor chip for smartwatches. This is more technical than most of you care about, but here’s why it matters: It means that even the awesome and affordable FitBit Versa that just came out (and any other smartwatch you might be thinking of buying right now) is based on, and limited by technology that’s two years old! No details yet on the first round of watches that will carry this new chip, but I assure you it will be worth the wait.
